At Raffles Christian School Pondok Indah, learning goes beyond the four walls of the classroom. Secondary 3 Biology students have been given the opportunity to learn about plants through their participation in the Greenhouse project.
The students started by harvesting vegetables and observing the different parts of the plants. They then connected their observations to IGCSE topics, further enhancing their understanding of the plants.
Through the use of hydroponic culture, which is a soil-less culture, students were able to see the intricate details of root hairs and how plants interact with insects and fishes.
The Greenhouse project not only provides students with hands-on learning experiences, but also helps to instill a love for nature and an appreciation for the environment. It is initiatives like this that make learning at Raffles Christian School Pondok Indah a truly holistic experience.
