On July 18 2023, the Primary 5 to JC 2 students at Raffles Christian School, Pondok Indah, attended the Quest for Excellence talk, which was held in the school’s auditorium. Mr. Danny Kim shared that he founded a security company, which was based on Christian values, with his two college roommates. He was coding for a big company. Unfortunately, they had a bug in their code and were told that they did not have to do the job anymore. But they were tenacious and wanted to fix their problem, so they offered to fix the code without payment. While coding, Mr. Danny couldn’t find the bug, so he prayed. He then saw and remembered the code he needed, and he was able to fix it!
Besides founding a security company with his roommates, Mr. Danny explained that he has also teamed up with groups of kids on projects related to space and ocean exploration, which I was most excited to hear about! He and a group of Grade 8 students wanted to send a space experiment platform into space, which went successfully. Mr. Danny also teamed up with a group of high school students to create an ocean research project for a contest, which they won after three long years of hard work.
I enjoyed watching Mr. Danny talk about space and ocean exploration and was inspired by how he and his team of students could achieve many amazing things! I was also inspired by his tenacity. I learned that if we continue living out the CHRIST values and continue to pray, we can achieve greater things!
